Thirteen shirts, reconstructed from twenty-five years of photographs of the man who wore them.

None of these were bought. They are conference swag, a company that got acquired, a trip with a gift shop, a wife's shirt that was never returned, and one whose print has washed off so completely that nobody can say what it advertised. What makes them worth anything is not the artwork. It is that somebody kept wearing them for two decades after the artwork gave up.

The first ten are the shirts as they are now. The last three are the same garments taken to the end — shotgunned, worn to lace, and sewn back together. Every one is immaculately clean. Priced by damage, on the principle that the less shirt there is, the more it is worth.
